About Reyka
Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Reyka, a 3-year-old Australian Shepherd who has overcome a lot on her path to finding a safe and loving home. Reyka began her life in a puppy mill, which left her nervous and always on the lookout for reassurance. Since coming into her foster home, she’s grown by leaps and bounds—she’s nearly potty trained, is crate trained, and feels more at ease every day. Reyka is learning the joys of leash walks, settling into routines, and even loving car rides. Her foster family describes her as an endearing mystery: she observes, learns, and remains deeply curious about the world, despite her shyness. Reyka’s ideal home will have another calm, confident dog to help guide her, and a very secure fenced yard for safety as she continues to work through a flight risk tendency. She thrives best where someone is home much of the time. While she gets along with dogs, cats, and respectful kids, an adult-only household is preferred so she can relax and keep growing at her own pace. Patience and gentleness will go a long way in gaining Reyka’s trust. She may never be a typical lap dog, but she could be the perfect quietly loyal companion—content to watch TV on the sidelines, stroll at your pace, or shadow you throughout the day. With love, kindness, and understanding, she’ll keep surprising you as she blossoms. Fun fact: Reyka is an Aries, meaning she’s destined for courage and new beginnings! If you’re ready for a meaningful relationship built on respect, small victories, and mutual discovery, Reyka may be your match. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
