I've made tremendous progress in my foster home, including becoming potty trained with a routine, learning to walk on a leash, adapting quickly to household routines, and loving car rides. My foster parents call me an enigma in the best way - yes, I'm often nervous and unsure, but I'm also deeply curious, observant, and eager to learn. I'm looking for a forever family who can help me continue growing and figuring out who I am. Ideally, you have experience with shy dogs, but I'm also willing to teach you. I sleep in my kennel at night and when I'm home alone, so I'd like a home where someone is around often. Because I've spent my life living with other dogs and draw confidence from them, I do need a calm, supportive dog friend in my new home. I'll also need a securely fenced yard; it gives me a safe, quiet space to go outside while I continue working through my fearfulness and flight risk tendencies. Most of all, I'm hoping to find my special person - someone patient, gentle, and willing to learn my cues and love me exactly as I am today. It's hard to predict who I'll become. I may never be a super cuddly lap dog, and that's okay.
