Gus, 7 yrs, is the biggest teddy bear you could ever dream of. He was saved with his daughter, Tavi (3yrs) on the very day both were set to be killed I. A kill shelter in California. We got word of them and got to work to try and save them, in time. They went in to the shelter system happy and sweet and bonded, and were immediately separated and quickly began to shut down. It was heartbreaking to see Gus’s video from inside- he didn’t move, barely lifted his head and barely moved at any sign of a volunteer or possible human interaction. His heart was broken. He had given up. When we pulled both of them and they were reunited, Gus came back to life as soon as he saw her. His tail wagged, his eyes brightened, his heart has been healed through this girl of his being back by his side. He absolutely loves her. And Tavi is 💯 a daddy’s girl. They are truly teddy bears come to life. We are looking to adopt them out together, bc we would never want that heartbreak for them again. They are gentle and calm, sweet snugglers through and through. They are such easy going dogs and enjoy affection and their humans just as much as eachother. Sadly, because they were so badly neglected, both required serious medical attention upon rescue and their eye infections that went untreated for so long, resulted in both dogs needing their eye removed. Both have one eye. And both could care less. They didn’t let it dampen their spirit, at all, they were simply overjoyed to be together again. And together, they have the two eyes they started with. They are just SO sweet and loving. This gentle giants are really extraordinary with such a story of resilience and love. These two will complete your family in the most beautiful way, while we you will be keeping the only family each of them have left, in tact, adopting them together. We would love to find them a forever home for Christmas! They have come so far from death row, where we found them on their last days and fought with all our might- these two babies deserve the most wonderful forever home.
