About Sweetie Pie

Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Sweetie pie is a five-year-old hound with a handsome brown coat, weighing in around 60 pounds and ready to fill your life with love. This big-hearted boy is friendly, playful, and delights in the company of people and other dogs. He gets along with dogs of all sizes and ages and does well with children of all ages, showing no particular preference for men or women—he simply loves everyone he meets! House training is a work in progress, but sweetie pie does his best to signal when he needs to go out. He enjoys walks and is getting better on leash, though he may pull and should always be leashed due to his tendency to wander. Outdoor adventures are his favorite, and with routine, he’s becoming more relaxed indoors. Crate training is proving helpful for sweetie pie’s sense of calm, especially when left alone. He may vocalize briefly but soon settles and can be left alone for a few hours, especially when crated. With continued training, patience, and reassurance, his confidence and independence will only grow. Currently, his energy is somewhat limited due to heartworm treatment, but regular exercise and play will soon be important for this active hound. Sweetie pie's past hasn’t been easy, but it’s made him incredibly resilient and trusting. He’d thrive in a home with a secure six-foot fenced yard, another dog for company, and people seeking a loyal companion. He’s happiest curled up next to you, resting his head for affection and enjoying belly rubs. If your family is ready for a sweet, affectionate hound and can offer patience and consistency, sweetie pie may be your perfect fit. Adoption includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccinations. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
