About Rosie
Rosie first showed up at the Humane Society for Hamilton County as a tiny 23-day-old stray kitten. Without the guidance of a mother cat, she missed some key social lessons, and she can be sensitive to too much handling. Rosie uses clear body language—swishing tail, flattened ears, and the occasional hiss—to let people know when she needs a break, but these signals were missed in her last home, especially around young children. That’s why, after living with an adult and an eight-year-old, she’s looking for a home that respects her boundaries. Now about 3.8 years old, Rosie is smart, athletic, and eager to play. She thrives with plenty of toys, especially wand toys and balls, loves to climb and perch by windows, and would benefit from a home where her daily need to run, jump, and chase is encouraged. When she’s had her fill of play, she’ll happily settle down and relax. Treats like Temptations are the surest way to her heart. Rosie does best with adults who understand feline body language and can let her decide when cuddles are welcome. She’s handsome, lively, and hoping her long wait for the right human is over. While domestic short hair cats are generally fine around children, Rosie prefers a household without young kids, as she can become overstimulated by too much handling.
