Hazel is the sort of dog who takes in every detail. She notices what's going on and keeps her sights fixed on whatever draws her in. She’s been at the rescue since late October 2025, having arrived from Animal Services Beaumont. With people, Hazel transforms—she’s thoughtful, tuned in, eager to please, and genuinely tries to get things right. She already knows how to sit, takes treats with a soft mouth, and can stay calm even when other dogs get loud nearby. Hazel thrives on guidance. If you give her structure and direction, she listens and finds comfort in it. Out on walks, Hazel moves politely past the kennel rows and checks in with her handler when asked. She can focus, follow commands, and tune out distractions as long as she has clear, steady leadership. Hazel needs to be the only dog in her future home. Other dogs just stress her out and make things too intense—so she’s searching for a family where she can have her own space and not have to share it. She’s active, but balanced—not bouncing off the walls, more observant and responsive. She settles into routines, and opens up best to someone who’s patient, calm, and willing to show her the way.
