About Moana
Moana is a sweet, timid girl who was found wandering along a highway and brought to the shelter when no owner could be located. She is gentle and non-aggressive, though she can be a little shut down in new environments. Upon first meeting, she may keep to herself, showing hesitant body language such as ears back, tail tucked, and "whale eye," but with patience, she begins to relax. In her interactions with other dogs, Moana is polite and respectful. She prefers parallel walks and will ask for space when needed. She's happiest when she can keep a human nearby for reassurance, showing that she craves gentle guidance and safety. Moana would do best in a calm, patient home where she can build confidence at her own pace. With time, kindness, and someone who understands her need for space, she has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. Behavior Notes: Dog meet notes 11/22: dog meet notes 11/22: Positive interaction with Moana, a similar sized f/m. Both were timid coming out of kennels but loose and friendly as we walked. Chilly initiated greetings both face to face and from rear while Moana was hesitant and content to just parallel walk. Chilly was content to parallel walk at times, but chose to greet consistently progressing to a mount each time. He did not escalate to appropriate vocal reactions. Moana retreated while asking for space each time. Moana chose to keep humans b/t them when given the chance.
