About Violet
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Violet is a one-year-old shepherd/mountain dog mix with a beautiful black medium-length coat, weighing about 40 pounds. Earlier this year, she was rescued after being hit by a car, which left her with a foot injury and some cognitive challenges, but after months of devoted rehabilitation, surgery, and love, she is now searching for her forever home. Violet is incredibly sweet-natured and gentle, with a love for playing with other dogs. Her ideal home must have another playful pup or a pack to help guide her, as she is extremely shy and relies on canine companions for confidence. While she enjoys the company of dogs, Violet can be fearful around humans, especially men, and would do best with patient adopters—she is likely to bond more quickly with a female caretaker in a calm setting. Although she has been around children and behaved well, she is best suited for homes without small children to help her feel safe. Violet is playful and especially enjoys romping in the yard with her foster siblings and her toys—which she goes through quite fast! She requires a secured 6ft privacy fenced backyard to keep her safe and to give her space to play. She does well in her crate and is making progress with potty training, including consistent use of puppy pads. Thanks to her extremely shy nature, Violet will thrive with experienced adopters who are willing to continue her socialization with time, love, and patience. In return, she’ll be a devoted and loving companion, ready to give kisses once she trusts you. Adopters must be within 45 miles of Winston-Salem. Scorpios like Violet are known for their resilience and determination—a fitting sign for such a strong spirit. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
