About Violet
Violet is a one-year-old shepherd mix, rescued earlier this year after being hit by a car. She came to Stepping Stones facing significant injury—her foot was damaged, she lost a toe, and she’s had some cognitive challenges as a result. Months of rehab and gentle care later, Violet’s sweet, resilient personality shines through. She has a genuinely gentle spirit and thrives around playful, friendly dogs; another dog or a pack is a must for her confidence and happiness. She’s extremely shy with people, especially men, and is likely to bond fastest with a patient, female caretaker in a quiet home. Young children overwhelm her, so a family without small kids is best. Violet finds comfort and joy in play, tearing through toys, and romping with dog friends in a securely fenced backyard. Her crate manners are solid, and she’s working steadily on house training, including using pads if needed. Because of her skittishness, Violet needs someone experienced with shy dogs and dedicated to her ongoing socialization. She’s affectionate on her terms, quick to give kisses once trust forms, and will shadow you once she’s settled. Violet is a Scorpio—known for loyalty and sensitivity.
