About Booray

Meet Booray! Booray is a senior Weimaraner, about 13 years old, who’s treat-driven and responds well to positive reinforcement. He’s quick to pick up commands, especially when motivated by food, and appreciates consistent training—he already knows Heel and Sit, even with distractions. Booray’s eager to please and smart, but would benefit from continued obedience work to build up his confidence. He’s hard of hearing and has some vision loss, so Booray relies on his nose and prefers you announce yourself with his name and a clap if he’s resting, to avoid startling him. He needs a home without children, where folks understand his needs and respect his space. He’s gentle when taking treats, but can be snappy if another dog crowds him at treat time. Still, Booray gets along with other dogs and could thrive as an only pet if given attention. He’s not a fit for homes with cats. He’s learning crate training and is okay with it so far. Collar handling is a work in progress, and he responds best to gentle, reward-based approaches. He gets anxious during storms—using a thunder coat or gentle medication may help. Potty training is ongoing, but Booray improves with a steady routine and regular outings. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and located in Dallas, TX. With love, patience, and plenty of treats, Booray will continue to build his confidence and enjoy his golden years. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
