But please, don't take it personally - I'm just really scared in here. I'm 11 years old, and I lived in the same home for 10 years. That was my whole world - my people, my bed, my routine. I don't understand why I'm here, and the stress makes me act tough. But truthfully? I'm not tough at all. I'm just anxious and heartbroken. Take me out of the kennel, and you'll see the real me. I'm gentle. Sweet. I warm up quickly, and I love to be near you. I still wag my tail. I still have so much love to give. I just need someone patient enough to give me a chance to show it. I'm not a puppy anymore - I'm past the zoomies and chaos. What I want now is peace. A calm home. A soft place to rest.
