About Bruiser

Bruiser has done a lot of growing during his stay with his foster mom. He arrived nervous and withdrawn, but now fits in as part of the household pack. He’s still uncertain with new people, so expect him to take things at his own pace around strangers. Once he trusts you, Bruiser will greet you with kisses, come when called, and zoom around the house when excited. He enjoys a good nap and has gotten fitter, losing over a pound and gaining muscle—he’s become quite the napping pro. Bruiser needs a calm home where there aren’t frequent guests or a lot of commotion. He takes well to friendly dogs after some time and truly shines in a laid-back environment. He is housebroken, which makes things easier, but he does have some fear-based aggression and will need patience as he settles in. Like a lot of chihuahuas, he does best if people give him space to adjust. If you’re looking for a low-key, loyal companion and can let Bruiser warm up on his terms, he might be a good fit.
