About Athena

Athena is a tough but affectionate cat with a remarkable story. Found bravely caring for her kittens outdoors, she survived hardship and loss before being rescued in Antioch, California. A coyote took two of her kittens, leaving her with just two to protect. After enduring those challenges, Athena had her left eye removed and spent a month healing at the local shelter, where she was also spayed and vaccinated. Now settled safely at the sanctuary, Athena shows her bright, resilient personality every day. She loves attention and has a bold, energetic streak—she’s lively, a little feisty, and brings a spark wherever she goes. Athena enjoys people but can be reactive sometimes, so she’ll do best with someone who appreciates her strong spirit. She gets along with other cats and is house trained, making her a wonderful fit for someone looking for a friendly companion who’s been through a lot and come out shining. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
