About Monte

Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Monte! He is a 6.5-year-old bully mix with a big head and an even bigger personality. Monte came to the rescue after his beloved owner unexpectedly passed away. The transition from a home to shelter life was understandably confusing and stressful for him at first. In his initial weeks, Monte needed some time to adjust, but he's since settled in and formed a special bond with the staff. These days, Monte's face lights up when he sees his friends, bouncing with excitement and gently nudging them for scratches and attention. Affectionate and full of love, Monte also enjoys his independence. He likes to explore fenced-in fields, splash in kiddie pools, and chase after his favorite toys. Bath time is no challenge for Monte; in fact, he relishes the cozy towel-dry and will even let towels drape over him like a little king, lounging comfortably afterward. Monte is not just fun-loving but also smart and sassy, already knowing commands like sit, give paw, and speak for a treat. He has been known to "speak" to remind people he's there if he isn't getting enough attention! This wonderful mix of independence and affection makes Monte a loyal companion ready to co-exist with his people and snuggle up at the perfect moment.
