About Boomer
Click apply to start the adoption process. Boomer is ready to leave the senior shelter behind and find a real home! This lively, 11-year-old Havanese/Terrier mix is full of energy and zest for life. Unlike most senior dogs who are content to snooze, Boomer adores walks and will happily join you for a run or an adventure. He's a healthy, playful boy who needs a home that values staying active. While Boomer is polite with other dogs outside, he prefers to have his house all to himself—so his ideal match is a pet-free household. Having arrived after being surrendered by his previous owner, Boomer's past wasn’t easy. He’s looking for an adults-only home, as he isn’t comfortable around children, and his history has made him cautious. Boomer has made big strides, but he does exhibit resource guarding with food and toys. Continued training and patience will be key, and he’ll need adopters who understand canine behavior and positive reinforcement methods. Harsh discipline frightens him, so a gentle, understanding environment is a must. Boomer is eager to trust; he’s smart and knows several commands (including sit, stay, and come), and will even give kisses when asked. All he wants is a loving, supportive home where he can continue to blossom. Are you the caring, experienced person ready to give Boomer the second chance he truly deserves? Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Boomer
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Havanese/Terrier mixes generally thrive in homes where they can receive plenty of attention and engagement. They do well in both apartments and houses as long as their exercise needs are met.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A Havanese/Terrier mix enjoys having access to a yard but can manage well with daily outings and regular walks. Regular play sessions and time outdoors are important for their physical and mental well-being.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While both Havanese and many Terriers can be good family pets, some mixes can be less tolerant of young children, especially if they have guarding tendencies or are fearful. Supervision and proper introductions are recommended.
