About Mandala
Mandala is a large, brown mixed-breed dog who’s ready for a fresh start after years spent in limbo through no fault of his own. Through the ups and downs—waiting on a court case, losing his adopter, settling back at the rescue—Mandala has never lost his goofy, affectionate streak. Staff and volunteers know him as a tornado of zoomies, a skilled squirrel watcher, an enthusiastic toy de-stuffer, and a meat snack aficionado. He’s also a pro at face massages, which help lull him to sleep, and fills his days acting as the world’s happiest office supervisor when fostered by staff. Mandala was thriving as a lovable couch potato in his previous home before his adopter passed away. He’s shown that, when settled and supported, he bonds deeply and makes for a rewarding companion. Due to a tough early life, Mandala isn’t able to live with other pets. He’s searching for an adult-only, single-animal home—ideally not in a communal building—and isn’t a candidate for dog parks. His adopters should continue his successful muzzle training and provide patient leadership. Mandala doesn’t care for cold weather, so he’d rather snuggle with you than romp in the rain. He lives for toy time, always eager to show off his squirrel squeakies. While he’s not the sharpest on campus, he’s food motivated and gives his best effort—especially for chicken. Mandala comes with extra support: he’s part of a Foster-To-Adopt program for a smooth transition and will be sent home with a GPS-enabled collar for safety. A generous donor has even sponsored his adoption fee. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Mandala
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Mandala, as a large mixed-breed dog, is best suited for a home with ample space and a calm environment, ideally without other pets. He'll thrive in a house with adults only, especially with a secure outdoor area and a quiet place indoors to relax.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Large mixed-breed dogs like Mandala appreciate a secure yard for bursts of energy but also enjoy lounging inside. He doesn’t require endless acreage, especially since he isn’t a fan of cold weather, but a fenced yard or regular walks will meet his needs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Mandala is looking for an adult-only home, so he would not be a good fit for families with children. This preference helps ensure his comfort and sets him up for success.
