About Bernie
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Bernie! She is a gorgeous 7-year-old pit bull terrier mix searching for her forever home, and she’s bursting with a zest for life and loving energy to share with everyone she meets. Bernie was rescued from a shelter just in time, and now she’s ready to enjoy every moment of her newfound freedom in a caring home. Bernie is spayed, up to date on all her vaccines, and regularly protected with flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. Prone to skin sensitivities, Bernie thrives best in a home environment with attentive people, rather than in a boarding facility. Her food motivation shines through—she’ll remind you when it’s meal time! She adores treats, chew bones, and will gladly let you know when it’s time for a bath, which is one of her favorite routines. Always up for an outing, Bernie is playful and full of energy—walks, car rides, and public social adventures are her favorites, though you’ll want to hold on tight if a squirrel crosses your path! Bernie’s downtime is equally adorable: she loves belly rubs, cuddling up next to her people, and relaxing with a good bone. She is crate trained and does well when left alone with plenty to keep her busy. Bernie can’t be in a home with cats due to severe allergies, but she absolutely loves children and enjoys human companionship. She gets along with other dogs, though she prefers slow, thoughtful introductions and can be playfully enthusiastic with canine friends. Did you know? Born August 11th, Bernie’s sun sign is Leo, which might explain her big heart and love for being the center of attention. Click apply to start the adoption process.
