🐾 Friendly☺️ Gentle🙈 Shy

Lefty is a young, neutered male shepherd/hound mix with a medium build. He is currently in Mountain View, AR, and gets along well with other dogs. While his coat was fairly unkempt when he arrived, ongoing grooming has already made a difference. Lefty is not yet house trained but shows promise. He does best with gentle encouragement and patience as he continues to build his confidence.

About Lefty

Lefty grew up with his five siblings in a small enclosure and didn't get the chance to meet many people early on, so he arrived at the shelter nervous and unsure. The first day, he was so frightened staff had to carry him everywhere. Now, curiosity leads him around and, while he can still be shy at first, his confidence grows daily. Lefty seeks out affection once he feels safe and is eager for gentle attention. His coat was in rough shape after not having had much grooming, but daily brushing is helping him look better and feel more relaxed. He's not fully housetrained yet but only goes in his outside area at the shelter, suggesting he'll pick up house training quickly with consistency. Lefty gets along with other dogs and should settle nicely into a home that has the patience to let him flourish. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
