About Fig
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Meet Fig, a loveable 4-year-old, 40lb pit bull mix searching for her forever family. After overcoming a tough chapter, including finishing heartworm treatment, she's bouncing back stronger than ever! Fig is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, house trained, and crate trained, so she's all set to make herself at home. Fig is a ball of energy—she loves roughhousing, snuggling, and chewing on favorite toys like benebones and frozen kongs filled with yogurt and peanut butter. She thrives during daily play sessions and long walks (up to two hours in the evening plus a morning stroll). While she's a champ on leash, she can become a bit excited when seeing other dogs out and about, so a little extra guidance will go a long way. If she gets overly enthusiastic, a quiet break in her crate helps her reset. This social pup gets along well with men and women and enjoys the company of similarly playful dogs, although she does best with thoughtful introductions. Fig hasn't had experience with kids or cats yet, so it's unknown how she'd do in those settings. She can be vocal around other crated or fenced dogs and isn't a fan of noisy lawn equipment—keeping her inside during mowing is best. She's not food-aggressive and shares space with other dogs during meals with her trusty slow feeder. With a big heart and energetic spirit, Fig is excited to keep healing and growing with the support of a loving family. Could yours be the one to make her dreams come true? Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
