About Varric Tethras

Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Varric is a charming little rogue with a unique spirit—a chip on his shoulder, a kink in his tail, and a tentative optimism that’s just waiting to bloom in the right home. He came from Travis Air Force Base, where early attempts at capture by well-intentioned citizens left him wary, but under patient care, he’s learned that trust comes with choice and respect. Once a hissy and cautious kitten, Varric thrives when he can come out of his shell alongside a confident, adult cat companion. His foster mom's cat, Mirage, has been a wonderful role model, showing him the joys of play, cuddles, and companionship. For Varric, the ideal home is strictly indoors with an existing, playful feline friend, and adopters who understand that slow introductions and patience will help him flourish. Although he's met both calm livestock guardian dogs and senior terriers, he tends to be anxious around dogs and would do best in a cat-focused environment. His foster home has adult cats that help him learn social skills, plus two adults who work standard hours and occasionally have grandchildren visit—Varric is used to adults with gentle routines. He has mastered litter box manners, nail trimming, scratching posts, and carrier time, all while enjoying plenty of play and cuddle sessions. As a Taurus, Varric is likely to be dependable and enjoy cozy routines. He’s microchipped, combo tested for FIV/FELV, neutered, treated for parasites, and up to date on his vaccines. His adoption will come with a Welcome Home Hero kit, including favorite toys, treats, a comic, and a comforting blanket to help him settle in. If you’re looking for a young cat with a story to tell and a heart ready to trust, Varric may be your next hero. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
