About Deacon
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Meet Deacon, a one-of-a-kind mixed breed (Terrier/Boxer) with a personality that will steal your heart! Deacon is a neutered male, weighing in at about 45 pounds of pure affection and playful spirit. This chill guy has just the right dose of energy—a splash of zoomies now and then keeps things exciting. He’s a high jumper and absolutely loves running in the yard, so a securely fenced 5-foot yard is a must. Watching Deacon play with his beloved squeaky toys is a sight of pure joy, and squeaky toys are undeniably his absolute favorite. Deacon will truly thrive as the only dog in your household, but he’s great with cats—though you might catch him giving them a playful chase out of love, not mischief. Having spent time in different homes, he’s learned to trust and love again. He may be slow to warm up, but once bonded, he’s your loyal shadow—and don’t forget those squeaky toys! He is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, and has successfully worked with multiple trainers to become the best companion he can be. While still acclimating to the world and new experiences, Deacon just needs a patient adopter who will offer extra TLC and support when he encounters new people or places. Rest easy knowing his adoption comes with lifetime training touch-ups (location dependent), and you’ll have access to group classes to help him settle in and shine. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
