About Scout
Start your journey together! Apply now. Scout is a handsome lab-mix who is looking for a loving home where he can begin a new chapter filled with trust, playful moments, and lifelong companionship. Every morning brings new opportunities for Scout to revel in yard play with volunteers, where his goofy antics and love for silly-sounding toys shine—he’ll chase, toss, and even bark at them with delight. Fetch games and outdoor walks are among his favorite activities, giving him plenty of chances to stay active and engaged. Scout takes great pride in the progress he’s made with his weight loss journey and remains committed to reaching his healthy goal. In addition to yard play and neighborhood walks, he participates in water hydrotherapy sessions which boost his spirits and wellbeing, reminding everyone how much his happiness matters. Inside his kennel, Scout is remarkably tidy and respectful, never disturbing his bedding or blankets. He keeps his space clean and does his business during walks. At mealtime, he appreciates his space, sometimes guarding his food bowl—this is a behavior his caretakers believe can be managed with loving, consistent training in a home environment. During quiet times, Scout dreams of a simple life with a caring family where he can enjoy the outdoors with strong walking companions and have a cozy spot in the house to relax nearby. Because of his strength and size, Scout would thrive as the only pet in an adult home, and having a fenced yard would be ideal. Above all, Scout wants to be a loyal companion, cherishing every moment by your side and offering unconditional love in return for care and attention. With Scout by your side, you’ll gain both a confidant and a devoted friend. Fun fact: with a birthday in early August, Scout is a warm-hearted Leo, known for his loyalty and big-hearted nature! Make their next chapter their best one yet.
