About Wylie
Wylie’s story is something special. After being left behind by his first owners, Wylie survived for years on the streets, watched over but never truly embraced by the neighborhood. He remained gentle and approachable, never losing his faith in people. When his best friend Waylon was trapped in a collapsed well, it was Wylie who came to the shelter, led the rescuers to the scene, and would not rest until Waylon was safe—even as a thunderstorm raged above. That stubborn loyalty and courage say everything about Wylie. For all those years as a vagabond, he never lost his good nature. He’s polite, sweet, and uncommonly mild-mannered. As an older chap, he still carries himself with the youthful energy of a dog who trusts that things can always get better. Wylie and Waylon must be adopted together; these two have faced the world side-by-side and that bond cannot be broken. Both are social, loving dogs who deserve a home as faithful as Wylie has proven himself to be. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
