About Benton
Benton is a lovable adult hound mix who’s been through more than most dogs ever should. He was one of over 20 dogs abandoned in a house, left to fend for themselves in terrible conditions. Thankfully, with Artemis Project’s intervention, Benton got the care he desperately needed—he’s now vaccinated, neutered, and receiving treatment for heartworm (ongoing meds will be provided at no cost for adopters). Despite this rough start, Benton is gentle and eager for affection. His foster family is helping him learn there are good people in the world. Benton gets along well with other dogs but really needs a patient home willing to help him continue healing, gaining confidence, and feeling safe again. He’s searching for someone who can show him what it’s like to be truly cared for. Benton is in Hackett, AR and ready to start a whole new life. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Benton
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Benton, as a hound/mixed breed, generally does well in homes with access to a moderate amount of space and regular activity. Hounds often thrive when they have a bit of yard or room to explore, but they love having close bonds with their people.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A medium-sized yard or regular walks should satisfy Benton’s hound instincts. Hound mixes like him don’t always need huge spaces, but they benefit from room to stretch their legs.
