About Manchego
Manchego is a unique character with short, endearing legs and a playful spirit. Born in January 2022—making him a practical Capricorn—he weighs about 45 pounds and brings a blend of Dutch Shepherd and Basset Hound quirks. He’s naturally curious and a bit coy, especially with new people, most likely because his early life was quite sheltered. With some patience and practice on a leash, he’ll find his stride and become a reliable companion. He gets along well with other dogs, enjoys playtime, and manages to be both social and shy at the same time. Manchego does well with cats and is friendly around children too. The right match for him would be a patient single person or couple open to guiding a shy dog as he learns to enjoy the world. His biggest charm? Those irresistibly lowriding legs. Manchego is currently located in San Diego, CA. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?

Questions about Manchego
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Manchego, being part Dutch Shepherd and part Basset Hound, does best in homes where he has people around who can offer patience and structure. A home with access to a yard would be a plus, but he can also do well in an apartment if given proper exercise and attention.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Manchego will appreciate regular strolls and a bit of outdoor space to sniff and play. A secure yard is ideal but not mandatory if his daily exercise needs are met with walks and playtime.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Both Dutch Shepherds and Basset Hounds are known for their friendly natures, so Manchego should do well in homes with children, especially given his social temperament.
