About Chowder
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Chowder is a happy, fun-loving boy bursting with love and energy. He delights in spending his days playing fetch (even if he hasn’t mastered the return yet!), and adores being around people and other canine friends. Living with three other dogs, Chowder is used to an active, social environment where the fun never stops. He craves human attention and is always up for a walk or adventure, making him a wonderful companion for an active household. Chowder is inquisitive and enjoys exploring, but always returns when called, showing off his eager and responsive nature. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, Chowder can display food aggression, though ongoing training has helped him make significant progress. For this reason, he will thrive best in an adult-only home that is experienced with canine behavior and can provide appropriate leadership. Chowder isn’t suited for a home with cats, but what he really wants is a loving family who will bring out the best in him. He’s expressive, fun to be around, and just waiting to share his big heart with the right adopter. As a Taurus, born in early May, he carries the steadfast and loyal traits of his sign, making him a truly devoted companion. Give him a chance, and you’ll gain a loyal, delightful friend for life. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Chowder
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Cattle Dog/Collie mixes typically thrive in active households with plenty of space to move and play. They do best in homes with yards, and with families who can match their energetic and inquisitive nature.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This mix benefits from ample outdoor space such as a fenced yard where they can run, play, and explore. Daily exercise and stimulation are important for their happiness and well-being.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Cattle Dog/Collie mixes can be suitable for homes with children if both are properly supervised and socialized. Their herding instincts may prompt chasing or nipping, so older children who understand dog behavior are often a better match.
