When people show up, John Adams melts into the background, doing her best impression of a worried loaf in hopes of blending in. Hands-on affection isnât her thing right now. Sheâs shy by default; thick panic sets in with too much attention. But sheâs handled essentialsâlike flea medicationâwith surprising tolerance, even if she reluctantly tolerated every second. Toys become interesting only when no one is watching, but she will play, slowly building confidence in shadows. At her calmest, she gravitates toward her two close-knit feline friends, finding real comfort in cat companionshipâespecially if theyâre the brave ones leading the way. Sheâs a true follower and would really thrive with another calm, friendly cat by her side, maybe even one of her current crew. John Adams will need a patient, gentle adopter willing to offer a quiet adult home, a slow start, and the presence of at least one confident cat ally. No sudden grabs, no demands for affection. In the right environment, with calm and consistency, sheâll come out of her shellâeventually, she may be the cat you find kneading the blanket at 3 a.m., loyal and affectionate on her own terms.
