Meet Kodiak – a.k.a. Runt Runt! My name is Kodiak, but my foster mom calls me Runt Runt because I’ve always been the smallest of my big pack of 12 brothers and sisters. Don’t let that fool you, though—I may be the runt, but I’ve got the biggest heart! I was born on March 18, 2024, and my people think I may be an American Staffordshire Terrier mix. My mom is a sweet black-and-white Staffie who was rescued just before giving birth. We don’t know who my dad is, but I definitely got my own special charm. I’m now about 50 pounds and still growing into my paws. I’ve been with my foster parents since birth, so I’m well socialized and dog-friendly. I’ve gone on park outings, walked nicely on leash, and even showed off my sit—my foster parents were so proud! At home, I enjoy playing with my siblings, but I’m also a pretty relaxed guy. I love lying on my back and holding toys above me just to “study” them. Chew toys, squeakies, sticks—you name it, I love it. And if there’s water around, whether it’s a pool or a puddle, I’m in it! I also share my home with a resident dog I call Aunt Sugar, and we get along great. I’ve even been to an off-leash park, where I made lots of new friends. I was a little shy at first, but then the zoomies took over and I had the best time! I’d do great in a home with other dogs. I’m kennel trained, house trained, healthy, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. I also take monthly heartworm, flea, and tick prevention.
