About Eugene
Eugene is a 7-year-old orange tabby with a gentle, reserved spirit. He starts off wary in new places and will often keep his distance from people he doesn't know, preferring to observe from afar. Once his trust is earned, Eugene turns into a loving companion who purrs deeply during petting sessions and even kneads biscuits in your lap. He prefers to initiate affection on his own terms, often circling around before letting you pet him, and never wants to be picked up unexpectedly. Watch for his tongue sticking out—that's when he's at his happiest. Eugene feels most secure when there is another animal in the home. He finds comfort and confidence in the company of cats or dogs, often seeking them out for companionship or gentle play. Because of his need for space and a gradual introduction to people, he has not done well in apartments and needs a home with enough room to let him adjust at his own pace. He is fully house trained and up to date on vaccinations, but adopters should understand he needs months, or even years, to truly settle in. He is not suitable for homes with children, but for patient adults with other animals, Eugene could blossom into an affectionate shadow. He has been neutered and his sun sign is Cancer—a sign known for loyalty and sensitivity. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
