About Mia

Mia has come a long way from her days on the Kansas City streets. Now about two years old and a strong 30 pounds, she’s become a loving and resilient companion, thanks in part to months of professional training and care. Mia shines as a ride-along friend, happy to tag along on errands and comfortable meeting new people—especially those offering treats. She’s careful and gentle taking food and continues to grow more confident in new spaces. Leash-trained and crate-trained, Mia knows several commands—sit, wait, with me, come, kennel, and is learning ‘leave it’. She’s motivated, eager to please, and can settle down easily with a peanut butter Kong. Mia is energetic during playtime, showing off lively zoomies and wrestling in the yard before switching gears to curl up for a nap. Mia gets along with other dogs, particularly larger, calm, playful ones, but she’s still working on resource guarding and may do best as an only dog or with the right companion. She is not suitable for homes with cats or young children. Due to her jumping ability, Mia will need either a tall, secure fence or leash walks for bathroom breaks. Her biggest asset is her big heart—she’s ready to bond with someone who values loyalty and effort in a dog. Mia’s looking for a home where all the groundwork she’s put in will be appreciated and can truly become someone’s best friend. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
