Smokey
AvailableSmokey is a black, small senior male domestic short hair cat living in Liberty Lake, WA. At about 10 years and 5 months old, he has been neutered, is up to date on vaccinations, and is house trained. Smokey requires a prescription urinary diet due to a history of urinary crystals, but he has adjusted well thanks to attentive foster care. His confident nature shines through, and he’ll thrive in a home where he is the only pet.
About Smokey
Smokey is looking for his next chapter and is sure to win you over with his bold charisma. After wandering the streets and being let down by his original owners, he found a spot in foster care and quickly made himself at home. He’s an older cat, fully vetted, and now thriving after some much-needed dental care and treatment for urinary crystals. This guy has a strong attachment to his people and prefers snuggling on blankets or napping with you at night. He’s also impressively well-mannered—he leaves counters alone, won’t try to dart outdoors, and always uses his litter box. Smokey is talkative during the day and will want to keep you company from room to room, yet he handles alone time only in small doses. He’s affectionate and confident but likes his independence and can be particular about where he’s petted. Smokey will need a cat tree or some sturdy scratching options, and a window to watch the world go by will make him very happy. For households considering him, it’s important to note Smokey should be the only pet. He’s shown he doesn’t get along with other cats or with dogs who invade his space and will be happiest as your sole animal companion. Due to his prior urinary crystals, he requires a prescription urinary diet (like Hill’s Prescription Diet C/D) for the rest of his life. Annual dental checkups are also a must, as with any senior cat. If what you want is a devoted, interactive companion who brings a bit of mischief and a lot of heart, Smokey could be it.
