Sage is a striking black cat who came to the shelter as a kitten with his siblings and, after years of shelter life, is just starting to come out of his shell. Now estimated to be about five years old, he tends to keep his distance but warms up in a patient, quiet environment. Sage will seek out gentle pets and grooming on his own terms, but he is not likely to be the type to greet you at the door or jump in your lap. He needs an adopter with prior cat experience and the patience to let him adjust at his own pace. He does well with other cats and prefers a calm home where his boundaries are respected.
