About King
King is a 2-year-old red/blue Heeler shaped by a tough beginning. He lost his first owner young and faced trauma during a chaotic rescue, resulting in a facial injury and ongoing breathing issues. Early on, King was distrustful and poorly socialized, but a committed foster helped him learn to trust people and other dogs. He’s now neutered, up to date on vaccines, and, true to his breed, sharp, energetic, and intense. King sometimes communicates with his mouth—he can get excited, jumpy, nippy, and, on occasion, too rough when overstimulated. After a recent incident where an accidental bite required medical care, King now has a documented bite history. He is not recommended for homes with young children and absolutely cannot be placed with cats, chickens, or small farm animals, as his prey drive is high. He needs structure, a controlled environment, and an experienced handler familiar with herding breeds. King thrives with space to run, purposeful work, and stable leadership. An ideal future for King would be as a working or herding dog with someone who understands his needs and breed traits. He deserves patience, purpose, and a chance to live the life he was meant for. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
