This 4.5-year-old terrier mix is equal parts hilarious and heartfelt. Benji is very housebroken (he'll let you know when it’s time to go out, and trust us, he won’t be subtle about it.) At home, Benji’s a big softie, his previous owner said he wasn’t protective, but here at the shelter, he’s been known to get a little vocal when folks loiter at the door too long. Show up with treats though? You’re instantly his favorite human. Benji gets too worked up around other pups and would thrive as the only dog in the home. He’s got a serious soft side: Benji sleeps like a rock in his bed, loves drive-thru adventures, and will tolerate you dressing him up like a little gentleman. He’s wildly food-motivated he’ll do anything for all the treats (pup cup please!), which makes training a breeze. Baths make him pouty, but he’ll get through it for the sake of looking handsome. We’re looking for a special home for Benji, one with a fenced-in yard (wood or PVC only, no chain link, please!) where he can enjoy the outdoors without encountering other dogs. While strong and a bit intense on leash, he’s eager to please, gives great eye contact, and loves affection.
