About Les Nessman ~ Sanctuary
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Please note, Les Nessman is not available for adoption. Les is a unique little guy, weighing just under 7 pounds, and is a behavioral case who is known for being unpredictable and will bite. Even though his stature is small, he has a very strong bite; at one point, he even bit through a thumbnail. Because of his behavioral challenges and sensitivities to his environment—barking excessively when disturbed—he requires a quiet atmosphere. Over time, those who care for Les have learned how best to manage him safely using muzzles and careful techniques. For his well-being, he will remain under sanctuary care rather than being placed for adoption. Ongoing support and sponsorship for his veterinary care and monthly preventions are valued and help give even the snarkiest little dogs a happy life. TLC Rescue is a reputable, all-volunteer 501c3 organization and recognized as a Top Rated Nonprofit by GreatNonprofits in 2024. Foster homes are always in demand, and the rescue is committed to partnering with reputable organizations to find safe placement for dogs in need. There are many ways to contribute to the ongoing care of sanctuary residents like Les. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!

Questions about Les Nessman ~ Sanctuary
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Chihuahua/Yorkshire Terrier mixes generally do best in homes that offer plenty of love and attention. They adapt well to both apartments and smaller homes, as long as they have a quiet and stable environment.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
These small breeds do not require a large yard but enjoy regular short walks and supervised outdoor time. Access to a safe, fenced outdoor area is beneficial but not strictly necessary for their happiness.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahua/Yorkshire Terrier mixes can be suitable for homes with older, respectful children who understand how to interact gently with small dogs. They may not be the best choice for households with very young kids, as they can be fragile and react poorly to rough handling.
