Ute is a 4 1/2 year-old terrier mix with a sweet but independent personality. While he’ll accept treats, he can be sensitive about certain touch areas—especially his paws and ears. Ute enjoys playful interactions but can become distracted quickly. He shows some mild resource guarding with toys, but he will trade for treats. With strangers, Ute can be aloof at first but warms up and becomes friendly. He knows the basic cue "sit" and is still working on leash skills, as he tends to pull while walking. Ute would do best in a home with adults only who can respect his boundaries. He’s looking for a patient and understanding family to help him continue building trust and confidence.
