About Robby

Robby’s story is both heartbreaking and hopeful. For ten years, he survived on the edge of someone’s property, overlooked and neglected, left to scrape together meals by begging and defending scraps from other strays. His health crumbled from poor care—infected, hungry, and desperately trying to survive on whatever he could find. Yet, despite these circumstances, Robby’s spirit never faded entirely. After rescue, Robby showed how quickly a dog can change with consistent kindness. Under the care of professionals, his physical and emotional wounds began to heal, and the gentle, affectionate side came out. These days, Robby seeks human company and craves attention, but the scars of his old life remain, especially around food. He has food and treat aggression—not surprising after years of starving—which is improving with patience and training. Robby does best as the only dog in a home, and he isn’t a fit for cats or other dogs. He does, however, get along with children who are respectful of his boundaries. Robby is seeking a quiet retirement in San Diego County with a secure yard, where he can finally enjoy peace, steady care, and the love he's always deserved. Make Robby’s next chapter his best one yet.
