Mitzy
AvailableMitzy is a senior female Shih Tzu with a small build, bicolor coat, and medium-length fur. She is spayed, vaccinated, and house trained, and her partial blindness means she will need some extra attention to her eyes and skin. Mitzy currently lives in Columbia, MO, and does well with a predictable environment and regular care.
About Mitzy
Mitzy is a senior Shih Tzu who doesn’t act her age. At 12, she’s still chasing adventures and eager for every walk. Partially blind but not slowed down by it, she absolutely lives for exploring the neighborhood or challenging you to a tug-of-war with her favorite toys. She isn’t the sit-in-your-lap type—instead, you’ll find her seeking out new things and curling up for naps in her kennel when she decides it’s time to recharge. Mitzy is reliably housebroken and thrives on gentle daily routines. She does need a fenced backyard because of her impaired vision and independent spirit. Managing her health is straightforward: daily Apoquel for her skin and eye ointment twice a day keep her comfortable. She gets along well with both dogs and cats, making her a good fit for many homes—just as long as you aren’t hoping for a lapdog. Her vaccinations are current and she’s spayed, so she comes to you with a clean bill of health. Mitzy is waiting for someone who needs a loyal walking companion with plenty of personality. They don’t make them much more spirited (or funny) than this little pepper. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
