Bubba is one of those rare dogs who manages to be both deeply loyal and happily independent. He’ll choose his spot at the foot of the bed at night, then somehow wind up curled in for a warm spoon—seriously, it’s hard to top that feeling. You’ll notice him check in with you now and then, always making sure his people are near, but he also enjoys a little space. He thrives outdoors and likes to wedge his head into your chest, soaking up every bit of affection you’re willing to give. Bubba is funny and full of quirky habits. The easiest way to light him up is to mention walk-time—he’ll grumble and do a full-body wag that’s hard not to laugh at. He’s a mostly quiet dog, unless someone knocks at the door. Passersby don’t bother him. While he’s been exposed to plenty of dogs, he’s most comfortable as a solo dog or with a mellow companion who enjoys personal space. He’s also gotten along well with cats and is good with kids. Bubba is house trained, but he could use a little help on the leash—his excitement gets the best of him and he pulls.
