Introducing Sweetie! 🌟 This lovely girl has truly earned her name. Sweetie was once a street dog, and a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in to care for her. They reached out to our Spay and Neuter Project, and we had the honor of bringing her in for spaying a few months back. But let me tell you, life hasn’t exactly been easy for this girl! 😢 When the vet opened her up, they found her abdomen filled with fluids from advanced heartworm disease. It was a serious situation—without medical intervention, she was literally drowning in her own fluid! 💔 But thank goodness for our wonderful foster who stepped up to help her thrive in a loving home. Sweetie is currently on a slow-kill treatment plan, and all of that pesky fluid is gone! She’s no longer displaying any symptoms, and soon she’ll be negative for heartworm in 12-18 months. 🌈 And guess what? We’re thrilled to send 18 months of her treatment with her to her forever family! 💖 Sweetie is around 6 years old—though honestly, the hardships she’s faced might make her seem older than she is. This Bully mix is a total sweetheart who loves fiercely and is eternally grateful for all the support she’s received. 🐾 She’s wonderful with all people and animals, and her good behavior shines through every day! Typically quiet and well-mannered, Sweetie is just a gem waiting for her forever home. She’s spayed, up-to-date on all shots, and ready to shower love on her new family! It’s important to note that while Sweetie is so well-behaved, no animal can be guaranteed to be fully house trained in a new environment.
