Michael Douglas is a long-haired black and brown dachshund living in Omaha, NE. As a small adult male, he's already neutered and up to date on vaccinations. About Michael Douglas

Michael Douglas spent his first five years locked away in a dark, filthy shed—no name, poor food, overgrown nails, no vet care. These early days left him scared but impressively resilient. Now with a name and a new lease on life, Michael is a joyful, 14-lb long-haired dachshund in Omaha, NE. His glossy black and tan coat and always-wagging tail make him hard to miss. He’s happiest glued to your side, indoors or out, always eager to "help" with whatever you’re doing. He bonds quickly and needs someone home much of the time, plus a confident small dog companion—another playful pup is key, as he learns from those around him. He does best with slow introductions to new people, especially men, and noisy small children aren't a good fit due to his history. Michael’s still learning to trust, and that will take patience and calm from his adopter. Kenneling is easy, but he isn’t house trained yet and needs someone willing to guide him gently; a securely fenced yard is non-negotiable since leash walks are not yet in his skillset. He barks deeply and often—apartments aren’t ideal. He’s looking for an adopter who sees past his rough start and celebrates the loyal, affectionate dog he’s becoming. Give him that chance and he’ll be yours, heart and soul. Think you are the one? Submit an application!
