About Elsie D

Think you are the one? Submit an application! Meet Elsie, a lovable Labrador Retriever/Terrier mix who truly stands out in the best ways. Originally found in Minnesota, Elsie's playful personality shines as she hops like a bunny around the yard, patrols energetically for squirrels and rabbits, and loves to play with other dogs. She has an impressive 4’ 5” vertical jump, so a secure 6’ fenced yard is essential for her safety, especially since she’s a bit of an escape artist. Elsie rides shotgun on car rides (with a seatbelt, of course), enjoys pouncing on tennis balls, and is learning to walk politely on leash and follow basic commands with the help of her foster mom. A gentle leader or martingale collar is best for her walks since she is strong and can slip out of a flat collar. Elsie adores toys but doesn’t like sharing them, so removing toys during playtime with other dogs helps keep interactions harmonious. She’s not a fan of kennels and is a clever escape artist, so she now uses a sturdy 'no break' kennel. Elsie is continuing to work on her potty training and takes daily Proin for urinary incontinence, so a washable dog bed is a smart choice. Her ideal home will be active, patient, and ready to embrace her youthful, food-motivated enthusiasm. She will reward her family with unwavering love and devotion. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
