About Romeo

Your new best friend is just one click away. Romeo is an incredibly sweet, snuggly, and loving little guy who instantly charms everyone he meets. Suspected to be a small Australian Cattle Dog mix (about 30 pounds) with a possible Jack Russell Terrier blend, he brings together the best qualities of both breeds. Romeo has shown himself to be wonderful with young children (ages 3-6), gets along well with other dogs, and is gentle and interested with cats—he happily chats and tries to play with outdoor rescue kitties from the other side of the fence. His delightful nature means he would thrive in a variety of homes, whether with families, older adults, or even as a therapy or emotional support companion with the proper training. Romeo was rescued with his brothers after being abandoned in a rural area, and despite this tough start, he remains sweet and a bit sensitive—often looking for approval and eager to please. He loves to melt into arms for cuddles, and lights up with joy when greeted. Romeo is extremely eager to learn and picks up new training quickly and happily. He's crate trained, has had no accidents, and lets you know when he needs to go out. While he hasn’t been left to free-roam unattended (as he was with other intact males or on crate rest after his neuter procedure), his track record in supervised settings has been spotless. Due to his talent for climbing chain link and welded wire, Romeo needs a home with secure wood or vinyl fencing, or an apartment where he is only outside when leashed or directly supervised. His adaptable personality makes him wonderfully suited to many home settings, provided these precautions are met. Think you are the one? Submit an application!
