About Carter
Carter is a small Terrier/Chihuahua mix with a big personality and some unique needs. At just over a year old, Carter has a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), which means he moves differently and requires some safety precautions. He can’t be left alone on furniture or manage stairs on his own, and he does best when kept in a secure area when not being supervised. Despite these challenges, Carter’s spirit is unshakable. He loves playing with toys, especially squeaky ones, and enjoys the company of other gentle dogs. Carter’s daily routine is solid—he’s house trained, eats well, and handles potty breaks with ease. His funny little walk and his habit of hopping around make him endearing to everyone who meets him. Carter thrives in a home that provides attentive supervision and a gentle playmate who will treat him kindly. Watching Carter gain strength and confidence has been rewarding to everyone involved, and he’ll do best with a family devoted to his safety and happiness. Carter gets along with both dogs and cats. He’s looking for a home within 30 miles of Eugene, OR, or someone willing to talk about special arrangements. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Terrier mixes like Carter appreciate regular walks and playtime but don’t need a large yard. A small, secure outdoor area is helpful, but safe spaces indoors matter most for Carter given his condition.
