Mr. Pickles is a large, short-haired male Domestic Short Hair cat with a tabby (buff/tan/fawn and tiger striped) coat. He is neutered and fully vaccinated. Mr. Pickles is currently living in LaPlace, LA, and while he does have special needs due to heartworm disease, he continues to thrive and adapt well.

About Mr. Pickles

Mr. Pickles arrived at the shelter as a stray, ear-tipped and originally bound for release, but his charm changed everyone's mind. He won over the staff instantly with his sweetness and earned his spot as a shelter favorite. Medical tests found him FIV and FELV negative, but heartworm positive—a tough diagnosis for a cat since there’s no reliable treatment, and it made his situation tricky. That’s where his name comes from: he really was in a pickle. Now, Mr. Pickles is thriving in a foster home, enjoying the company of other cats and kittens. He’s laid-back, gentle, and spends his nights snuggled up with his foster mom. His favorite things are quiet companionship and a little playtime with kittens. Despite his heartworm status, his last test looked more hopeful, so things may improve. Adopters comfortable with his diagnosis—or willing to wait for a negative test—are welcome to meet this easygoing cat. He’s safe with his foster family for as long as needed, but he'll be happiest in a home to call his own. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
