I’m Darla, like the little black-haired girl from the Little Rascal movies. Behind these soulful eyes is a dog who's been through a lot and come out stronger. In November 2024, I was rescued from a rough situation—tied to a pole, injured, and left in standing water. I had a broken hip, two damaged kneecaps, and some scars, but I’ve had surgery, healed up, and I’m ready for my next chapter. In a calm, secure home, I really thrive. I may need a little time to build trust, but once I do, I’m loyal, affectionate, and a total goofball. Here’s what I bring to the table: -I’m house-trained and crate-trained. I actually like my crate—it’s my safe space, especially for meals and bedtime. -I’m a quiet (and sometimes not-so-quiet) snorer. It adds to my charm. -I know basic commands and am highly food-motivated. Want a quick learner? That’s me. -I enjoy car rides, trips to the dog park, and relaxing on the couch. -I get along well with other dogs, including my young and playful foster sister and my older, grumpier foster brother. -I do best in a cat-free home—chasing them is just too tempting. -I can be protective of my space and people. I need someone who will help me navigate introductions with new folks, but once I know they’re good with you, I’ll be good with them.
