AvailableAbout Lexie
Lexie is about two and a half years old and was rescued from a tough situation in a feral colony. She's a lynx point domestic shorthair/Siamese mix living with partial paralysis after a wildlife attack, but that hasn't slowed her down much. Lexie pulls herself around on her front legs at impressive speed and seems to embrace her 'scootin’ life,' despite lots of effort to find her the perfect mobility cart. With physical therapy, she’s regained a little movement in her back legs but generally prefers doing things her way. Health-wise, Lexie is a playful, sweet cat who sometimes gets urinary tract infections and needs a bit of help with litter box training. She can get a little messy and requires some extra clean up—her awareness of her hind end isn’t perfect. Overstimulation of her legs can lead to accidents, though that’s improved as she’s gotten older. She’s mellow, gets along with other cats—especially older, calmer ones—and is used to a dog in her foster home, though she’d do best with a gentle, cat-friendly dog. Lexie adores people given all the care she’s received and should be fine with children as long as they understand her unique needs and can help avoid any stressful situations. Whether Lexie’s your only cat or new sibling, she thrives on attention and can happily play solo or with the right feline companion. Fun fact: Lexie was born on July 16 and is a Cancer, so she’s bound to make a devoted and sensitive buddy. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
