About Lexie
Start your journey together! Apply now. Lexie is a remarkable lynx point domestic short hair/Siamese mix with a short, soft coat and a resilient spirit. About two and a half years old as of March 2025 and spayed, Lexie’s journey began in a feral cat colony and she faced incredible adversity after surviving a traumatic encounter with wildlife. As a result, she is paralyzed from the waist down, but her back is perfectly intact, and she has sensation in her hind legs and tail—giving hope for improvement with ongoing physical therapy. Lexie has adapted to her situation by expertly pulling herself around on her front legs, never letting her disability dull her playful, happy spirit. Her foster family supports her with custom carts and therapy, though she loves moving under her own power. Otherwise in fantastic health, Lexie occasionally deals with urinary tract infections and needs help with cleanup, as she sometimes misses the litter box due to decreased back-end sensation. Her accidents have become fewer as she grows, and she handles life’s challenges with a mellow, easygoing attitude. Lexie enjoys the company of other cats, especially older ones who aren’t overwhelmed by zoomies, and would thrive either as a gentle companion or a solo star getting ample attention. She is used to a calm dog in her foster home and has warmed greatly to people, making her a lovely match for families with older, cat-savvy kids who can understand and support her unique needs. Fun fact: Born under the nurturing Cancer sun sign (July 16), Lexie is a true example of resilience, care, and adaptability. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
