She is looking for a loving home dedicated to her well-being and will need to stay on a portion-controlled diet for her health.

She often greets you with adorable, puppy-like curiosity—sniffing your hand as if hoping for a treat—and is well-known among her foster family for her enthusiastic, rumbling purrs that might just lull you to sleep if she curls up beside you. Celeste thrives on being near her people and will faithfully trail you from room to room, delighting in simple pleasures like chasing her laser pointer, basking in sunny windows, and stretching out for a nap on her cherished cat tree. While she does appreciate alone time, she’s sure to keep you company with her sassy conversation, letting you know—quite sweetly—exactly what she wants. She’ll gladly share the couch for a TV session, especially if there’s tennis on! Celeste’s ideal home is a quiet, peaceful place with an experienced cat caretaker who can patiently allow her time to adapt and blossom. She may do well with a calm, older, cat-experienced child, but prefers to be the only cat unless adopted with her sister, Nova, due to their differing personalities and needs. Celeste is on a very strict, portion-controlled canned food diet for weight management, and her adopters must be prepared to help her stay on track using a provided pet scale. Her journey to a healthy weight will require continued monthly weigh-ins and steadfast commitment to her feeding plan for her long-term well-being. After an unfortunate early chapter with her previous caretakers, Celeste has proven to be resilient; despite facing upheaval as an adult after being returned just shy of her 8th birthday, she remains loving and ready for her next home. Celeste is looking for adopters in the DC metro area, including DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
