Peeta
AvailablePeeta is a female Black Mouth Cur, estimated to be about 4 years and 4 months old, located in Waynesville, GA. She is spayed, vaccinated, and considered large in size. Her temperament shows her as gentle and dog-friendly, though a secure yard will be essential for her future home. Peeta’s Aquarius nature shines through in her quiet independence and resilience.
About Peeta
Peeta was found abandoned in the woods with another dog and it took weeks of gentle effort for her to build enough trust to leave her hiding place. Her time on her own left her a bit anxious, but she's never shown even a hint of aggression, not even when frightened. Peeta is sweet-natured and polite, clearly once somebody's well-loved pet, and she knows her way around a leash. She’s started to open up to humans again. At the rescue, Peeta gets along well with other dogs. She met some cats during an overnight stay and did fine, but would need a slower, more thorough cat introduction to be confident about feline roommates. Because Peeta can climb a 4-foot chain link fence, she absolutely requires a securely fenced yard and should never be left unattended outside. Her adopter will need to give her patience, time, and a sense of safety as she continues to regain trust and confidence. Born January 20, Peeta is an Aquarius—independent and surprisingly loyal beneath her quiet surface. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
