Gus
AvailableGus is a neutered adult male Great Dane, about 5 years and 9 months old, currently in Waynesville, GA. He's extra-large, house trained, and his vaccinations are up to date. Born under the sign of Leo, Gus probably loves being the center of attention. He was found already neutered and microchipped.
About Gus
Gus is a very large Great Dane, found abandoned despite having clear signs of previous care—neutered, microchipped, crate and house trained, and already knowing some tricks. His former owner could be contacted but chose not to take him back. Around the rescue, Gus just sort of lumbers about, bumping into things in his goofy, overgrown way. Most people win him over immediately, but he can be hesitant around men, even men he's seen many times. He must have a slow, gentle introduction to any men in the household. Kids under 16 aren’t a good fit given his size and nervousness. Gus does get along with dogs, but not cats. He needs an experienced Great Dane adopter—this isn't his first rodeo, and he’ll need someone who understands the quirks and requirements of the breed. Because he’s so big and still learning spatial awareness, you’ll need a high fence and time to help him settle in comfortably. Gus is a bit of an overgrown child at heart, leaning up on you and nearly knocking you over just for the fun of being close. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Gus
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Great Danes like Gus do best in homes with plenty of space, ideally with a secure backyard. Their size makes them less suited for apartments or small living areas.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Gus will need a high-fenced yard where he can stretch out and safely move around. Great Danes benefit from a decent outdoor space but are relatively calm indoors with proper exercise.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Adult Great Danes like Gus are often gentle but, due to his size and specific needs, a home with children under 16 isn't the right match for him.
