About Colt

Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Colt. Colt is a spirited young male, weighing in at 45 lbs, who showcases an impressive mix of intelligence and playfulness. He's brimming with puppy-like enthusiasm and is proving to be a quick learner, already understanding basic commands like "off" and "go to bed," while working hard on his leash manners, crate training, and meal-time routines. This bright boy loves outdoor adventures and took to the doggy door right away. He enjoys shadowing his foster’s older dog, is social, playful, and curious, although he’s still learning proper behavior around livestock and unfamiliar dogs. With calm introductions, Colt finds his groove and settles in nicely. Affectionate and eager to please, Colt thrives in an encouraging environment and will benefit from a family who can provide structure and consistency. He’s crate trained, house-trained, and meal times are his absolute favorite part of the day. Be prepared for a few laughs too—Colt is known for his endearing love of toilet paper rolls! Colt will flourish in a home where he receives training and boundaries, possibly with another confident dog to guide him, and with people who enjoy activity, walks, playtime, and snuggles. He will do best in a cat-free and livestock-free environment, as he’s still learning about these animals. Colt has made great progress since coming into rescue and is ready to find a forever family who will help him continue on his path to being the wonderful dog he’s destined to become. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
