Simon
AvailableSimon is a large, adult male Birman with a striking seal point coat and long fur, currently in Mira Loma, CA. At about 10 years and 4 months old, he is neutered, house trained, and up to date on vaccinations. Simon is FIV positive and needs a calm, special-needs friendly home. He prefers not to live with children, thrives on routine, and requires a safe indoor-outdoor setup due to his past experiences.
About Simon
Simon, sometimes called Rebel, once roamed semi-feral in Eureka, scraping by with the help of a kind feeder. His luck nearly ended after a vicious attack left him badly wounded, his eye shattered from a bite and his head infected. Neighbors sounded the alarm and, thanks to fast intervention from local rescues, Simon got the medical help he needed. Recovery wasn’t easy: surgeries, eye removal, days in confinement, countless meds. Through it all, Simon quietly tolerated every part of the ordeal. He’s now neutered, vaccinated, and tested FIV positive. Despite everything, Simon is not fearful—he accepts gentle pets and is comfortable around people, though he doesn’t seek out laps or cuddles just yet. He’s around 8-9 years old now and chats with his foster, showing there’s real capacity to bond. Simon needs a calm home, ideally as a solo cat or with only one other independent feline who prefers parallel lives. He can't go back to street life but still enjoys the outdoors, so a safe yard or roomy catio would suit him well. He does not get along with children. Simon’s journey left some shaved patches, but he’s putting on weight and looking healthier every day. With a quiet space and feeding routine, he’ll finally get the peace and safety he’s fought so hard to earn. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
